Duvall, Washington – The Riverview School District (RSD) and Riverview Education Association (REA) have agreed on dates to reopen Tolt Middle School and Cedarcrest High School for in-person learning to students and families that choose to do so. The first student day at Tolt Middle School begins on Thursday, March 25. The first student day at Cedarcrest begins on Wednesday, April 7. Remote learning will continue to be available to families. Every attempt will be made to ensure students retain their current teachers, regardless of what option is chosen. The district and its schools will continue to provide frequent updates about next steps in the reopening process.
Superintendent, Dr. Anthony Smith stated, “I am excited that we will have in-person and remote options available throughout our educational system. I appreciate the long-standing, respectful and collaborative relationship that exists between the school district and its labor partners. We will continue to prioritize the health and safety of students and staff as we navigate next steps in the process.”
REA President, Missy Harvold added, “I’m pleased with the results of our ongoing conversations with the district. We all want to keep our staff and students as safe as possible during this pandemic, while we continue to educate children, as best we can.”
