Dear Riverview Community: The Riverview School District, along with a number of community members, is experiencing a district-wide outage in internet services this morning, following the tragic fire which occurred overnight involving Adventure Church in Duvall.
This morning, we learned our service lines were damaged in the fire. This currently impacts all Riverview-issued devices sent home with students.
CIPA (Children’s Internet Protection Act) laws require school districts to set filters on internet access for students. The district must comply with this law. With our service being compromised, computers are unable to access our network.
All school district websites are down, except for the new “Engage” website (engage.rsd407.org), which is cloud-based and accessible by mobile devices and hotspots.
We have been in contact with Frontier, the district’s internet service provider, in the hopes of getting updates on when services will be restored. As we receive those updates, we will pass them along through our communication channels, including the new “Engage” site, referenced above.
The district is configuring emergency backup equipment and hopes to restore district connectivity. As investigations are ongoing regarding the fire, we hope to have this temporary solution in place soon.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this situation. If you have any questions, please contact email@example.com and we will attempt to answer your questions as soon as possible.
